The development of this smart helmet followed a structured user-centered design process, ensuring the solution directly addresses the needs and challenges of micro-mobility riders. Through comprehensive user research, we identified the limitations of existing safety tools and explored interaction methods suitable for riders' dynamic environments
We developed a helmet that enables micro-mobility users, the relative underdogs on the road, to actively pursue safety through interactive two-way communication with the road environment. The smart helmet's intuitive design not only enhances individual rider safety but also positively impacts the overall flow of traffic, fostering safer roads for everyone.
Head Gesture-Activated Turn Signals: Allows riders to signal directions intuitively and safely without disrupting their riding posture.
Rear Approach Warning Light: Alerts users to fast-approaching vehicles from behind.
Rear Light: Improves visibility and communication in eye-level of car drivers.
